What Greenroom is
Greenroom lets authors publish characters they wrote and lets readers talk with them. Each character is an AI model that follows a sheet its author wrote.
Who may use it
You must be at least 18 years old to talk with characters or to publish them. Readers confirm this with a checkbox before the first message.
One author account is for one person. Keep your password to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has used it.
What authors promise
Everything you publish, including works, characters, lore, and highlights, must be your own creation, or something you have the right to use.
Do not publish real people, and do not publish characters taken from other people's work. You keep the rights to what you write. You give Greenroom permission to store it, show it to readers, and send it to the model provider so the character can reply.
What is not allowed
Do not use Greenroom to harass or impersonate anyone, to publish sexual content involving minors, to promote self-harm, or to break the law.
Do not try to get around limits on messages or writes, probe other people's accounts, or overload the service. Do not file false reports to hide someone else's character.
What AI replies are
A character's replies are generated by an AI model. They are fiction. They may be wrong and are not facts, advice, or the views of Greenroom or of the author.
A character is not a person, a counselor, or a professional. If a message suggests you may be in crisis, the service shows contact details for help instead of a character reply. In the US call or text 988; in Korea call 109; elsewhere contact your local emergency number.
Reports and automatic hiding
Anyone can report a character from its page. When enough separate people report the same character, it is hidden from public pages automatically until the Greenroom team reviews it. Only reports from visitors who confirmed their age and have talked with that character count toward automatic hiding. The team may restore it, keep it hidden, or remove it.
We may also hide or remove content or close accounts that break these terms.
Greenroom Original characters
The Greenroom team writes some characters itself and marks them Greenroom Original. Scripted activity on those characters can appear in public numbers such as conversations today and readers this week.
Limits of our responsibility
Greenroom is provided as it is, without promises that it will always be available or free of errors. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for what characters say, for what authors publish, or for losses that come from using the service.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms. We will post the new version on this page with a new effective date, and announce material changes on the service.
