Record of an Escape

Choe Seo-hae, 1925 · Original title: 탈출기

A friend has written to Park, scolding him for walking out on his mother and wife. Park answers with a long letter that tells everything: why his family crossed into Gando hoping for a new life, and what they actually found there. The letter is both a confession and an explanation of a decision he believes he had to make.
